Samsung is rumored to be planning an extended model (5.3 inches) from their phone best-seller 'Galaxy S', and yet we see Sony Ericsson are doing the opposite by pushing smaller versions of its best-seller - "Xperia".

The beauty of miniature Sony Ericsson Xperia Pro Mini has now come to Vodafone UK on pay monthly contracts. The phone is now available for free with £ 25 / 24 m contracts per month gets you 500 minutes and 250 texts, plus 500 MB download.

Although the phone may seem deceptively small, but Sony Ericsson has been quite articulate to accommodate many interesting features. The phone has a Smart Slide-out layout, with a landscape keyboard hidden underneath. Its powered by the latest Gingerbread Android 2.3, and the kernel runs from SE X10 own processor.

A nice surprise is the small 3-inch screen that performs much better than you ever expected. Its equipped with a 'Bravia Engine' technology from Sony patented video technology and video-smoothing turns 720p HD video effortlessly.

Other features include a 5MP snapper on the back with LED flash, 3G, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth for wireless connectivity. It can be a bit low power for a 1Ghz processor, 512 MB RAM and 400 MB of onboard storage, but then it is not intended to impress the power users first. We believe that the Xperia Mini Pro is a winner as it is cute, compact and packs the punch. Let us know what you are doing this phone?
